Duration: 1 Day

Objectives:

This course builds on the Excel Macros course to provide delegates with an understanding of the more sophisticated capabilities of Visual Basic in the Excel environment, in particular Debugging, User Forms and Worksheet Events.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to use macros effectively to automate the Office environment and produce sophisticated spreadsheet-based applications.

Designed for:

The course is suitable for delegates with a basic understanding of Excel macros; they should have attended the Excel Macros course or be familiar with its content. Ability to use a modern programming language, including an understanding of variables, arrays, loops and decision structures, will be an advantage, though is not essential.

Description:

Creating complex workbooks that can be used effectively by people other than the designer is not simple. Visual Basic offers the opportunity to automate and simplify the use of such workbooks, enabling users to remain focused on the business needs and results, rather than the technical details of how the workbook operates.

This course extends the use of Visual Basic to a greater depth and shows how it can be used to build sophisticated and tightly controlled applications that can be operated effectively by users with relatively little knowledge of Excel.
